I always have wondered how these worked and now I know! I found all the generators very addicting! It was fun to play with all the different animations and logos you could add to your own uploaded photo. I added my favorite one to the side of my blog. All of these that I tried were easy to use and simple to navigate around with. I did have a little bit of trouble uploading the photo to my blog until I found the embedded code. I have never heard of online generators before this but I plan on continuing to seek out good image generators. I want to use these throughout my educational career. I know my students will love all the fun and creative things you can do with this. Students could easily try to generate spelling words, find and create pictures of vocabulary, or generate characters for a story board. I plan on implementing all these fun tools into my classroom.

I love sharing photos online! I think these tools will be wonderful additions to any teacher website! I plan on using all these fun tools to help decorate my classroom's website and also I want to label stations with colorful and creative letters from Flickr. Creating my banner was very simple and so much fun! I loved looking through the different letters to create my name!
I think students will love using these fun web tools. They could use them for presentations or just for fun! I plan on continuing the use of Spell with Flickr.

I have been using Flickr for years now. I love looking up places and seeing pretty pictures of the world. With that being said, I have never opened a Flickr account. Opening an account was easy to do and navigating the site is simple as well. I know my future students will be able to use it!
My sister and I just moved into our first apartment. The walls were bare so we thought instead of buying artwork to hang on the walls, we would make our own. I found that I really enjoyed painting and I plan to continue. These are just a few examples of the artwork I have completed.
"Abstract Flowers"

"Tulips"

"Bursting Flower"
I plan to continue using Flickr for my own personal use. In my classroom, I would direct my students to use this as a resource. I think posting classroom pictures would be a little difficult due to my class will be minors. I will encourage students to explore and discover new things and places.

Wow! Web 2.0 tools are great! I had such a hard time narrowing down which one I wanted to blog about. I finally chose Google Docs because I just recently bought an iPad. One of the apps I downloaded has Google Docs and I always wondered what it would do. I now know!
Google Docs creates documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. You can create these while others are working on the same document which is convenient for group projects. Also, you can send what you create as an email or share with other users who are using Google Docs. Another great feature this tool has is it can save your work as a Word document, Power Point presentation, and Excel spreadsheet. This is great for on-the-go work.
I think this tool could be used in higher level grades to collaborate with peers for group work. It could also be used by the students to submit work through. Since Google Docs is all online, students would not have to worry about losing the work they did due to computer error or mess ups. They would be able to access it at home and at school!

Web 2.0 is just amazing when you really think about what it is allowing users to do. It gives us all an opportunity to make our thoughts and ideas  public for the entire world to see. As educators, this is a realization that should not be overlooked. Our young students will be able to read, write, and post their own ideas for the world to see. To continue this trend, teachers must be aware of the shift to School 2.0. The tools that are available are almost unimaginable for the these students. Our job is to help these students discover and learn how these tools can help them along in their educational experience. Being well educated on this ourselves will give us an important advantage. We will not only be able to help our students learn, but also connect with these young learners in a deeper way.

Knowing that others enjoy what you write is a wonderful part of being a writer. It helps to connect with the reader. A community is formed when the reader becomes engaged with the writer. It makes a warm circle of humanity. I think commenting back to the people who commented is a great idea. I feel like this will let them know you are trying to stay connected with them and this will keep them reading what you write.

I commented on Bridgette Elmore's Blog #1 about becoming a life long learner. I found that her and I share similar thoughts and feelings about life long learning.

I commented on Jessi Wright's Blog #7. She posted pictures of her study abroad pictures which were stunning! I love Europe and hope to go in the future.

I commented on Melissa O.'s Blog 2 which was about making the avatar! I found making the avatar challenging too. I enjoyed reading her triumph story of how she mastered the AVATAR!

I commented on Mallory Stewart's Thing 3 blog which was about using blogs in our classrooms. I think this is great that others want to incorporate this form of communication into classrooms. I think parents and students can really benefit from teachers using blogs.

I commented on Candice Yingst's Thing 6 blog. She posted a great picture editing site which I am adding to my list of favorites.

I commented on a blog about context clues. The standard I have chosen deals heavily with context clues, and it was exciting to read other thoughts about the subject matter.

Using a blog is a very useful tool in an educational setting. In my classroom, I would use a blog as a calendar available to all the parents, students, and even the school's administration. Posting events for the week or for the month will keep parents informed of all the classroom activity. Another advantage of posting classroom activities and events is for students who may be out sick or who may miss school for some reason. They could easily see homework assignments they were missing and reading to make up work more independent.
This could also be used as just information. If a parent is curious about upcoming events, they can inquire at their own leisure.
I could also use a blog to accommodate my students' needs too. I could post daily homework assignments and upcoming tests. While it would still be beneficial for the students to keep track of homework in a calendar of their own, they could check my blog for that night's homework assignment if they forgot their planner or forgot to write the assignment down.

This was my first blog creation experience. I found Blogger simple to use and understand. It was very easy to add new things to my blog once it was created. I decided to title my blog "Jeanie's 23 Things." I decided to keep it simple because in this case, less is more. I decided to use my preexisting Google account which was JeanieBeanie. I decided to keep this for my posting name.
Once I made my blog, I created an avatar to go on my page. To be honest, I don't like my avatar. I could not find the right hair style or facial expression. I tried to make it look like me as best I could. I wanted to make a look-alike because I wanted to be represented by something that was as close to me as possible!  I think my avatar does reflect my personality because I am a simple girl. My avatar is definitely simple and cute!

Becoming a life long learner is one thing I want to instill into my own students. While watching the video, the phrase "I will, I can, I do" jumped out at me. I really like how it breaks the learning process into steps. I will learn. I can learn. I do learn. This is just really great.
The habit that I feel that I have already accomplished and mastered is accepting responsibility for my own learning, which is habit two. I know how to answer questions that I have, and I actively seek out these answers.
The habit that I struggle the most with is habit 3, viewing problems as challenges. I tend to have the mind-set of "just get through it." In the future and in my classroom, I want to see problems as puzzles and learning experiences. Teaching this to my students will also be beneficial for them. Not only will it teach them how to learn from problems, but it will also create good problem solving attitudes and habits.
